Web Interface not working after updating firmware on PoE Switch
Applicable Products: TP-SW8GBT-AT-PSV-U and TP-SW16GBT-AT-PSV-U
Overview: If a firmware update is interrupted, the device Web Interface may stop responding.
Solution:
- Connect to console port using a USB to Serial port adapter. Console port settings are printed on the switches.
- Open the console on the PC in a terminal emulator like Putty.
- Press enter on the PC keyboard to connect to the switch. You will see “BusyBox” and “/ #”
- Type “cd /tmp” and enter. Prompt should change to “/tmp #”
- Type “rc httpd restart” and enter. You should see the “/tmp #”
- Type “ifconfig” and enter to see the IP address of the unit
- Open a browser and enter the units IP Address. The web interface should open. Navigate to System and reload the switch firmware. Wait until firmware is fully loaded.
- After the firmware it fully loaded and the switch has rebooted, Navigate to Advanced | System Management | Management | Restore Factory Value to reset to factory defaults.
- After the unit completes it’s reboot, power cycle the unit to clear all memory fragments.
- Restore any custom configuration you have setup on the switch.
