Tycon manageable PoE Switches such as the TP-SW8GBT/AT/PSV-U and TP-SW16GBT/AT/PSV-U can connect to the Tycon MPPT controllers via the RS485 connection and monitor the MPPT controllers.
The switch can collect data from the MPPT and provide a data summary collected over time. The switch also allows the user to set alarms in the switch to alert about low battery or any error conditions on the MPPT.
Note: Switch firmware versions must be V1.1.3 or later.
A simple 2 wire cable is needed with RJ45 connector on one end and bare wire on the other end. Max cable length is 1200m (4000ft).

- After connecting the MPPT controller to the PoE Switch, open the PoE Switch web interface and navigate to Advanced | Energy Management | Solar System Configuration
- Select MPPT Type = TYCON
- Device ID default is 1. You only need to change this if you changed the device ID in the MPPT controller.
- Enable Solar System Function. Wait a few minutes and the Status should show CONNECTED

On this page you can see battery status and set alarms.
