Grounding a RemotePro and UPSPro system

Grounding a RemotePro and UPSPro system

Over the course of Tycon's history, we haven't had many issues regarding ungrounded systems. As such, grounding our solar systems is not required as long as the mounting pole is grounded.

If mounting to a pole or a location that isn't properly grounded, it is recommended to install a grounding rod and wire for the system.

The main reason to ground a system is to protect against electrical surges from lightning strikes or static buildup on the solar panels. Our solar controllers have safety features to prevent electrical surges from static buildup, but grounding provides added protection to your solar system.

Note: Any grounding rod and wire from your local hardware store will work fine.
